Angry Ginge names Man Utd legend he "would love" to join him on I'm A Celebrity

Angry Ginge has named a Manchester United legend as the one person he “would love” to join him in the I’m A Celebrity jungle if he could choose anyone.

The Twitch streamer has now touched down in Australia, having been confirmed as part of the line-up for the latest series of I’m A Celeb, which is due to start this Sunday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

The 23-year-old is not the only Mancunian taking part either, with his close friend, Aitch, also being revealed as one of the new contestants on Monday evening.

Having a friend in the camp will no doubt make it easier to settle into life in the jungle, but Angry Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, has now revealed he wishes a Man United legend was also heading down under this winter.

Angry Ginge "would love" Wayne Rooney to join him on I'm A Celeb

Speaking about the type of contestant he plans to be in a recent interview with ITV, Burtwistle said: “I will try to be the motivator in camp and make sure everyone is chatty and happy. I’m not argumentative either.

“And if I could pick anyone, I would love it if Wayne Rooney was in camp with me. We would have a laugh.”

The 40-year-old making an appearance may not be completely out of the question, having recently revealed he would be open to one day being a part of the ITV show, saying: “Would I? I think I would, at the right time.

“I’d struggle with some of the trials, though. You know the worst one, you know where they walk into a room…and there’s like a big ostrich looking at you. I didn’t [know he was scared of ostriches] but I’m just picturing them being there.”

The former Man United star also knows Angry Ginge well, having bizarrely joined his Pro Clubs team ‘Girth N Turf’ on EA Sports FC 24.

However, should he one day jet out to Australia, Rooney will have big shoes to fill, given that his wife Coleen finished as runner-up in the 2024 edition, behind only McFly singer Danny Jones.

With Angry Ginge, who has 1.4m Twitch followers, due to take part, this year’s I’m A Celeb is shaping up nicely regardless, but maybe 2026 will be the year we finally see Wazza taking part in a Bushtucker Trial…

Hansi Flick banned for El Clasico! Barcelona boss set for sanction after being sent off for angry protests in last-gasp Girona win

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick will miss the first Clasico of the season with Real Madrid after being sent off in his side’s last-gasp 2-1 victory over Girona on Saturday. The German received his marching orders for an angry protest as the Spanish champions moved above their fierce rivals at the top of La Liga thanks to defender Ronald Araujo’s late winner.

  • Flick received marching orders after arguing with officials

As Barcelona searched for a way past Girona in the dying embers of the game, Flick was left seething when the fourth official announced there would be just four minutes of additional time at the Olympic Stadium. With emotions running high as his side chased a crucial winner in their attempts to leapfrog great rivals Real at the summit, the 60-year-old argued with the officials over the amount of time added on and received two yellow cards in quick succession from referee Jesus Gil Manzano.

German makes gesture after Araujo netted last-gasp winner

However, despite being sent off, Flick was seen making a gesture near the dugout after Araujo netted the all-important winner for Barcelona. Slapping his left hand against his right arm twice, it is not clear if Flick aimed the motion towards either the referee or the fourth official after Araujo met Frenkie de Jong’s cross to spark wild celebrations among the hosts.

  • Flick to miss first Clasico of the 2025-26 season after dismissal

Flick’s dismissal means he will be absent from the touchline when Barcelona travel to Real next Sunday. The Blaugrana face Greek side Olympiacos in their next Champions League fixture on Tuesday before heading to the Santiago Bernabeu for what should be a mouth-watering clash. Despite Barcelona’s victory over Girona – which saw Axel Witsel cancel out Pedri’s opener – Real have the opportunity to reclaim top spot in La Liga when they face Getafe on Sunday.

Barcelona boosted by return of star man Yamal against Girona

While Barcelona have suffered a blow following Flick’s red card, they have been boosted by the return of Lamine Yamal following the persistent groin injury which saw him miss Spain’s World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria. Having also missed his side’s 4-1 defeat by Sevilla before the international break, Yamal was named in the starting lineup against Girona and recorded the assist for Pedri’s opener, before being substituted in the second half.

Hale End prodigy left Arsenal for £0, now he's better than Gyokeres & Isak

When Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus in 2022, it rocked the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners were signing a player who was key to Manchester City’s success in years gone by.

Jesus arrived in a £45m deal and made an instant impact. He was simply sublime.

The Brazilian immediately got into the groove in pre-season and then began the 2022/23 campaign, arguably the most free-flowing of Mikel Arteta’s reign, with five goals and three assists in his first eight Premier League matches.

Sadly, since then, it’s been an agonising tale of woe for the 28-year-old who has now bagged 26 in 96 outings for Arsenal.

A wretched series of injuries have crippled the forward’s time in north London and Arteta’s side have felt the devastating impacts.

Kai Havertz has been transformed into a striker, and to his credit, he has done well. However, after Jesus suffered an ACL injury last winter, it meant that Mikel Merino stepped in as deputy.

The fact Arsenal made it to the semi-finals of the Champions League with the squad they had was a miracle, truth be told.

Yet, the squad has been rebuilt and repurposed by Andrea Berta this summer. A series of signings have been made to the forward line which includes Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke. Viktor Gyokeres, however, was perhaps the most marquee addition of a colossal transfer window.

How Gyokeres is performing since moving to Arsenal

Signed for a guaranteed £55m this summer from Sporting CP, the addition of Gyokeres ended what felt like a two-year search for a centre forward, a genuine out-and-out goalscorer.

Last season was the first at Arsenal in 101 years that a player in the squad failed to score double figures in league action. While Havertz and Saka spent large parts of the campaign out, it spoke volumes of a forward line lacking punch, lacking spark.

Well, Gyokeres will certainly add the punch. He’s a brute, a heavyweight forward with an eye for goal. He scored 54 in 52 games last term, a truly ridiculous record.

Since moving to the Emirates, the Swede has found the net on two occasions in three matches, albeit both goals came in the 5-0 win over Leeds United.

In the two other games, he has struggled, perhaps understandably so. Those two examinations have come at Old Trafford and Anfield, hardly happy hunting grounds for many strikers.

What will be concerning, however, is just how isolated the new signing looks. Against United, there was a real lack of service from Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Against Liverpool, while the Sweden international was more involved in the build-up, he was again starved of service.

In both of those games, he’s failed to have a single shot. It will take time, of course it will, for this forward line to tick with Gyokeres at the head of the attack, but they need to work it out quickly.

They have one of the best creators in the game in Saka and one of the most ruthless finishers in Europe. This feels like Arsenal’s best chance at winning the title in many a year, even if Liverpool have signed Alexander Isak.

Speaking of Gyokeres’ fellow countryman, did Arsenal let a better finisher than both of them leave for nothing?

Better than Isak and Gyokeres: Arsenal's biggest Hale End blunder

This summer, Arsenal corrected one of their biggest blunders at Hale End. When he was 13, the Gunners decided to release a certain Eze from the academy, a decision that left the young kid in tears.

Well, to get back to Arsenal, he’s gone around the houses. Eze became a genuine livewire at QPR and then after moving to Crystal Palace, it wasn’t long before he became a household name.

Back where it all began, the England international is living the dream and simply cannot stop smiling. He’s been beaming from ear to ear from the moment he arrived back in the north of London.

Yet, he’s definitely not the biggest mistake out of Hale End. That honour goes to the Harry Kane situation.

Tottenham Hotspur fans have always sung that he is one of their own, but is that strictly true? Perhaps not.

Indeed, Kane’s first club was Arsenal but like Eze, he was released too early. Joining the academy aged eight, he left after just one season.

“He was a bit chubby, he wasn’t very athletic but we made a mistake,” admitted Liam Brady back in 2018.

Where Are They Now

Your star player or biggest flop has left the club but what are they doing in the present day? This article is part of Football FanCast’s Where Are They Now series.

A mistake it certainly was. While Kane didn’t exactly flourish in his early years at Spurs, enduring and enjoying loan spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester, he went on to become and still is, one of the best forwards in Europe.

In fact, the aforementioned Jesus has even described the now 32-year-old as “the best finisher in the world.”

While he didn’t beat Gyokeres for goals last term, he came mightily close, bagging 41 in 51 outings but he did so at a higher level. Indeed, Global Football Rankings notes that the Bundesliga is the fifth-best division in the world, compared to Liga Portugal, which sits in eighth.

It’s safe to say Kane is elite. He’s been doing it at the top level for a number of years now and has showcased that he can do it on a consistent basis.

The jury is still out as far as Gyokeres is concerned, while the Premier League’s record signing, £125m man Isak, still needs to prove himself over a number of years too.

Isak scored 23 goals in the league last term but unlike Kane, he is yet to win a Golden Boot.

The Spurs icon is the winner of three Premier League Golden Boots, having won it in 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2020/21. He even finished as the top scorer at the 2018 World Cup.

In total for Arsenal’s biggest rivals, he scored 280 times in 435 outings and he is now only second to Alan Shearer as the division’s highest-ever scorer.

To put it simply, Kane is one of the most elite forwards in the world. He’s better than Gyokeres and Isak and it may be a few years yet before we can classify them in the same bracket. It’s certainly a case of what might have been as far as Arsenal are concerned.

Their own Rodrygo: Chelsea agree personal terms to sign £50m "superstar"

It’s been a good summer for Chelsea so far this year.

Enzo Maresca’s side demolished Paris Saint-Germain in the first final of the revamped Club World Cup, and have since beaten Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan with relative ease.

The Blues have also been busy off the pitch, bringing in a host of top-quality talents to bolster the squad and challenge for a place in the starting lineup.

Yet, with just under three weeks until the window slams shut, the West Londoners appear to be making the most of their time, having been linked with someone who has drawn comparisons to Rodrygo.

Chelsea target their own Rodrygo

As they are every year, Chelsea have been very active in the market so far this summer, and their new arrivals are already looking brilliant.

Transfer Focus

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.

For example, Joao Pedro scored three goals in three games at the Club World Cup, while Liam Delap scored and produced an assist in his six games in America.

Add to them the exciting Jorrel Hato and Jamie Gittens, and it would be fair to say Maresca’s squad is looking far better than it did last year.

Chelsea's Tosin Adarabioyo and Joao Pedro celebrate.

However, while plenty of teams would call it a day, the Conference League champions still want to add more talent to the squad, and are edging closer to a player once compared to Rodrygo.

At least that is according to a recent report from transfers expert Fabrizio Romano, who has reaffirmed Chelsea’s interest in Alejandro Garnacho.

In exciting news, the Italian journalist has revealed that the Blues have now reached a complete agreement on personal terms with the player and are advancing in club-to-club talks.

However, there is still disagreement over the price, with the Pensioners wanting to pay around £30m and Manchester United wanting closer to £50m.

It could be a complicated and costly transfer to get over the line, but given Garnacho’s ability and potential, it’s one worth pursuing, especially as he’s been compared to Rodrygo in the past.

How Garnacho compares to Rodrygo

In this instance, the comparison between Garnacho and Rodrygo stems from FBref, which analysed players in similar positions in the 23/24 Champions League season and concluded that the Real Madrid star was the ninth most similar attacking midfielder or winger to the United ace.

While that might sound hard to believe for some, we can gain a better understanding of how this conclusion was reached by taking a look at some of the metrics the pair ranked closely in.

These include things like goals per shot and shot on target, goal-creating actions, touches in the opposition’s penalty area, carries into the final third and more, all per 90.

These numbers help paint a picture of someone who might not be as dangerous as the Real star yet, but he clearly has a knack for getting the ball into dangerous areas, much like the Brazilian.

Away from the statistics, another trait the Madrid-born dynamo shares with the two-time Champions League winner is his positional versatility.

Alejandro Garnacho

Since breaking through at Old Trafford, the future “superstar”, as journalist Liam Canning once dubbed him, has played in several positions, from attacking midfield to both wings and even up top on one occasion, which would make fitting him into Maresca’s side far easier.

Finally, while the comparison to a world-class player is certainly encouraging, it’s not the argument for why the Blues should be looking to sign the young Argentine, as you could also use his output from last year.

For example, despite being just 20 years old for the whole campaign, and playing in a historically terrible United side, he was still able to score 11 goals and provide ten assists in 58 appearances, which is not a bad return in the circumstances.

Ultimately, so long as the price remains reasonable, Chelsea should go out and get Garnacho, as he’s clearly got plenty of potential, and the fact he’s been compared to Rodrygo in the past is only further proof of that.

A Salah repeat: Chelsea receive massive offer to sell £100m + "superstar"

Chelsea have a big decision to make regarding one of Maresca’s biggest talents.

Chelsea are now "close" to signing a talent who's as big as Estevao

It’s no secret that Chelsea have spent a lot of money on a lot of seriously talented players over the last few years.

However, arguably one of the most exciting signings the club have made in recent years was when they spent £29m on then-17-year-old Estevao Willian, who is finally set to join up with Enzo Maresca’s squad ahead of next season.

The teenage Brazilian, nicknamed Messinho, is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in world football and, with 42 goal involvements in 83 senior club games already, it’s easy to see why analyst Ben Mattinson describes him as a “future Ballon d’Or winner.”

So, Chelsea fans should be delighted with reports linking the club to another incredible gem who could be as big a talent as Estevao.

Chelsea target brilliant wonderkid

It would be fair to say that this summer has been a largely positive one for Chelsea so far, as, on top of their exploits on the pitch, the club have conducted some brilliant business off of it.

Transfer Focus

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.

For example, they made a tidy profit on Noni Madueke and managed to finally offload Kepa Arrizabalaga, with both making the increasingly common move from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates.

Then, in terms of incomings, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro are all surely going to improve Maresca’s attack, and it looks like they are closing in on RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons as well.

Chelsea forward Joao Pedro

However, the Blues don’t appear to be done there, as it also looks like they will be getting their hands on an even younger prospect, someone who could be as big a talent as Estevao.

At least that’s according to a recent report from transfers expert Fabrizio Romano, who has reaffirmed Chelsea’s intense interest in Jorrel Hato.

The Italian journalist goes a step further, revealing that a deal to sign the Ajax ace is “now very close” as negotiations between the two clubs are at the “final stages.”

A price is not mentioned in Romano’s report, but stories from earlier this month claimed that a fee of around £40m would be enough to get this deal over the line.

While that might seem like a lot of money, it might end up being fair value if Hato can fulfil the potential so many believe him to have, similarly to Estevao.

Why Hato is as big a talent as Estevao

So, the first thing to point out is that, with Estevao primarily playing as a right-winger and being tasked with scoring and creating goals, he is almost always going to receive more attention and more plaudits than someone who plays in defence, like Hato.

However, that does not mean the Dutchman does not possess the same level of talent as the Brazilian, nor the potential to be a genuinely great player one day – you only need to look at his record to see that.

Since making his debut back in February 2023, at just 16 years old, the “exceptional athlete,” as dubbed by Mattinson, has become an integral part of Ajax’s first team.

The Rotterdam-born monster has already amassed a staggering 111 appearances for the Dutch giants, of which 102 have been starts, and even though he primarily played at left-back, he has also been able to amass a reasonable tally in which he’s scored four goals and provided nine assists.

If that wasn’t enough to convince you that the 19-year-old wonderkid was something genuinely special, then perhaps the fact he’s already captained the Amsterdam outfit on multiple occasions will.

Finally, he’s not just seen as the next big thing by his club.

For example, the “immense” prospect, as dubbed by talent scout Jacek Kulig, has also already won six senior caps for the Netherlands, in which he’s provided one assist, since making his debut in November 2023, at just 17 years old.

Ultimately, Estevao will always generate more excitement as he’s someone who could be a massive source of goals and assists in the future.

Still, from everything we’ve seen over the last few years and what those in the know are saying, there is every chance Hato could be as immense a talent, and therefore, someone Chelsea fans should be very excited about.

Even better than Hato: Chelsea preparing bid to sign "aggressive" £51m star

As Chelsea close in on the signing of Jorrel Hato from Ajax for around £35m, they’re also preparing an offer for an even better “aggressive” defender.
