Everton are interested in Bayer Leverkusen forward and Euro 2020 star Patrik Schick, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness).

It would take a ‘very high’ fee to prise him from Leverkusen just a year after his arrival, with the report floating a €40million figure.

Following the quarterfinals, Czech Republic frontman Schick was the joint top-scorer at the Euros with five goals, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

Schick scored twice in the Czechs’ opener against Scotland, the second a sensational lob from just past the halfway line that may yet win goal of the tournament.

The 25-year-old then netted a penalty in a 1-1 draw with Croatia before finding the target again in a Round of 16 upset against the Netherlands.

Last weekend, Schick’s fifth goal of the tournament wasn’t enough to prevent the Czech Republic being knocked out by Denmark.

He came into the tournament on the back of a decent season at club level, with nine Bundesliga goals in 20 starts.

Should Southampton regret selling Shaw?

The left-back left St Mary’s seven years ago after establishing himself in the first-team as a teenager, and whilst it has taken him time to really prove himself, his performances last season for Manchester United and at the Euros this summer prove that he is now one of the top left-backs in the world.

The 26-year-old joined United in a deal worth £27m when he was just 18-years-old and has gone on to feature 186 times for the Old Trafford outfit since then, contributing three goals and 17 assists in that time.

The 2020/21 campaign was undoubtedly his best in a Manchester United shirt, as he earned a place in the Premier League team of the season for his performances, averaging an impressive 7.03 rating from WhoScored across 32 top-flight appearances.

He was also one of the stars of the tournament for England as they were defeated in the Euro final by Italy on penalties, scoring once and assisting three times in six appearances and averaging a superb 7.37 rating from WhoScored for his performances.

Rio Ferdinand was one of several pundits to sing his praises during the Euros, saying:

“He’s had a real burst of form and this season he has been fabulous. His delivery has been exquisite in this tournament, getting up there and his timing of the runs is excellent.

Flocking to Twitter, many West Ham United fans have reacted to news on their club and Borussia Monchengladbach defender Ramy Bensebaini.

David Moyes has been tipped to target new defenders as one of his main summer transfer priorities alongside the acquisition of a star striker and signing Jesse Lingard permanently (Claret & Hugh).

West Ham have been linked to a few colossal defensive names like Nikola Milenkovic and James Tarkowski, with news now emerging on another target in Bensebaini.

The Bundesliga ace, who started 20 German top flight matches for Monchengladbach over 2020/2021, also managed more interceptions per 90 on average (1.9) than any West Ham man did in the Premier League (WhoScored).

– Não é que o Bruno não sabe marcar. É uma engrenagem. Os atletas que estão ali também têm de se ajudar. Alguém tem de fazer uma cobertura. Acredito que é na base da conversa, que a gente tem de acertar – afirmou.

Incomoda ainda não ter classificado?
Claro que incomoda. Apesar de o trabalho estar sendo bem feito, pelo Rogério. Mas sabemos o que temos de fazer para melhorar. Temos de ter a tranquilidade, para fazer bons jogos, e depois fazer um bom clássico

Por que time não agride tanto mais?
O desgaste, o tempo curto de distância. Mesmo o Rogério fazendo treino mais curto, preocupado com o elenco, acredito que isso tenha pesado. Mas a gente sabe o que tem de melhorar, a marcação, esse volume de jogo. Todo mundo sabe que estamos fazendo isso, atacando todos juntos.

Como se preservar?
Temos de ser inteligentes para dosar, o elenco está curto. Mas na hora do jogo tem de estar todo mundo 100%. Acredito que estamos no caminho certo, fazendo grandes jogos, apesar de ter dado uma caída. Acho que é normal, pelo tempo de descanso. A gente sabe que deu uma caída, mas é buscar. A gente vem fazendo muita coisa boa

Ausência de Cueva
É um grande jogador. Todo mundo sabe disso. Mas acredito que do ano passado para esse ano temos opções. Durante a partida, temos opções do banco. Não são 11 jogadores, e sim um grupo de muita qualidade. Se ele não está, o Rogério sabe o que tem de fazer para mostrar seu valor.
