Former Sheffield United striker Brian Deane has told The Transfer Tavern in an exclusive interview that the Blades need a manager like Slavisa Jokanovic going into next season.

Sheffield United are looking for a new man for the dugout following Chris Wilder’s departure back in March and recent reports have suggested that they could be in for Jokanovic.

According to BBC Sport, the Yorkshire club have already spoken to the ex-Fulham and Watford boss about taking over. Meanwhile, current caretaker manager Paul Heckingbottom is also in contention for the job.

Speaking exclusively to TT about United’s reported interest in Jokanovic, Deane said:

“I’ve seen the headlines like everybody else. I think that in order to move forward, the club needs somebody who has that kind of presence out there. When you’re signing players and you’re trying to bring players into the club, they need to believe in what the project is.

“I think by bringing in somebody like him, it kind of says, ‘Ok, well, he’s got a couple of promotions on his CV,’ so they’ll buy into the hope that he’s the right person to move the club forward.”

While Jokanovic struggled during his time in the Premier League with Fulham before being sacked, he excelled during those two promotion-winning campaigns with the west London club and Watford.

Furthermore, he could be the man to take Sheffield United back to English football’s top flight – perhaps at the first time of asking.

O conselho deliberativo do São Paulo, por maioria dos votos, não aprovou a proposta de transmissão em televisão aberta da TV Globo, avaliada em R$ 40 milhões, mais R$ 20 milhões de luvas. A ideia do presidente Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva e do diretor financeiro Adilson Martins era já aprovar a oferta e utilizar a parte adiantada das cotas de televisão para quitar a segunda parcela do 13º salário de jogadores e funcionários e uma das parcelas da compra do zagueiro Maicon, ao Porto (POR). Com a possibilidade vetada, o clube partirá para empréstimos bancários.

Agora, os empréstimos atrapalham o planejamento a curto prazo de conseguir alongar a dívida bancária do Tricolor e aliviar os cofres para a próxima temporada com juros mais baixos. Essa, inclusive, é a única forma de usar verba de adiantamentos de receitas segundo as regras do Profut, lei do refinanciamento das dívidas dos clubes brasileiros. Não é permitido usar o dinheiro em contratações, por exemplo.

Por outro lado, barrar o adiantamento evita que as próximas gestões, entre 2019 e 2024, não possam contar com o valor integral dos direitos de transmissão negociados com a Globo. Esse foi o maior argumento de quem apoiou a campanha pelo voto negativo à proposta da Globo, que agora deve abrir novas negociações com o São Paulo.

Neste ano, o São Paulo já recebeu R$ 60 milhões da Globo como luvas pelo contrato de transmissão em TV fechada.

أكد المستشار مرتضى منصور رئيس نادي الزمالك أنه يعتذر لجماهير القلعة البيضاء ويقبل رأس كل واحد منهم بسبب المستوى المتدني للفريق، وتطاول بعض اللاعبين على جماهير النادي التي صنعت اسمهم.

وعقد مجلس إدارة الزمالك مؤتمرا صحفيا اليوم الأحد لتقديم البرتغالي جوسفالدو فيريرا المدير الفني الجديد للفريق الأول لكرة القدم.

وأضاف رئيس النادي في المؤتمر الصحفي: “أعتذر للجماهير وحقكم علينا، ولن يفلت أحد من العقاب، نحن تسلمنا 3 فرق وليس فريق واحد، ولن أتراجع عن أي قرار اتخذته”.

وتابع: “لن أجدد لطارق حامد أو أشرف بن شرقي أو أوناجم أو محمد أبو جبل، كل اللاعبين الذين تنتهي عقودهم لهم كل التقدير ولن أجدد لهم”.

وأضاف أن هذا القرار تم اتخاذه من قبل المباراة الأخيرة أمام الوداد، ولكنه قرر الإعلان عنه بعد اللقاء.

وأوضح أنه تعاقد مع طارق حامد من سموحة وقام برفع عقده الأخير إلى 16 مليون جنيه، ولكنه فوجئ بأنه رفض السفر مع الفريق لخوض لقاء الوداد، كما أنه رفض خوض مباراة العودة وقال للجهاز الفني: “مش هلعب الماتش ده.. مش هدخل في عركة”.

وتابع أنه سأل الدكتور محمد أسامة رئيس الجهاز الطبي وأسامة نبيه المدرب العام وتأكد من سلامة اللاعب، وشدد على أن الزمالك خسر بسبب طارق حامد وغيابه عن المباراتين.

واختتم أن طارق حامد اجتمع بأمير مرتضى المشرف على الكرة من أجل مناقشة ملف التجديد، وشدد على أنه عرض عليه 25 مليون جنيه في الموسم، ولكن اللاعب طلب الحصول على 9 ملايين مستحقاته المتأخرة، ووافقت على سدادها، مشددًا على أن الزمالك ليس في حاجة لطارق حامد.

Jacob Murphy has revived his Newcastle United career since being deployed as a wing-back and Keith Gillespie, who joined the Magpies as part of the deal that saw Andy Cole join Manchester United, has spoken exclusively to Football FanCast about the winger’s future at the club.

After having to go out on two separate loan spells since joining Newcastle in 2017, Murphy has become a mainstay in Steve Bruce’s side during the Magpies’ recent upturn in form having started the last eight league games.

Murphy, who grew up supporting Newcastle, has scored two crucial goals this season against Wolves and Burnley, and Bruce has admitted that he wants the club to offer the winger a new deal.

Speaking on why Murphy has to remain at the club given his consistent performances and how he has the ability to change a game single handily, Gillespie exclusively told FFC:

“I’d keep him because he can change a game in an instance. So, he is definitely one of the players I’d be looking to keep at the club.

‘Ultimately, it’s up to the manager who will decide if he’s going to be a regular because players themselves want to be playing regular football.”

Having signed from Norwich City ahead of the Magpies’ first season back in the Championship, the £25,000 per week winger struggled as he was farmed out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday in 2019, where Bruce was manager at the time.

Bruce and the Newcastle board will have some tough decisions to make this summer as they have several first-team players who are set to become free agents.

Wayne Rooney is facing a battle in his bid to bring Dion Charles to Derby County this summer.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by The Sun on Sunday (via Football League World), who claim that Rotherham United have entered to race to sign the Accrington Stanley centre-forward, with Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town all also believed to be keen on the 25-year-old.

A report by The Sun back in April revealed that John Coleman’s side would be demanding a fee of around £1.5m in order to part with the former Northern Ireland U21 international this summer.

Rooney must move

With goals having been something of a problem for Rooney’s side this season, with the Rams’ total of 36 goals for being the lowest amount scored by any Championship side in 2020/21, up front is certainly an area in which the 35-year-old must improve in the upcoming transfer market if Derby wish to have any hope of mounting a promotion push next term.

And, considering just how impressive Charles was in front of goal for Accrington this season, the Preston-born striker could prove to be an extremely astute piece of business for the Rams.

Over his 42 League One appearances for Accy in 2020/21, the 25-year-old bagged a whopping 19 goals, provided three assists and created seven big chances for his teammates, as well taking an average of 2.7 shots and making 0.7 key passes per game, culminating in an average SofaScore match rating of 6.91.

Aside from his clear eye for goal and decent creative capacity, the finances involved in a potential deal for Charles would also appear to be extremely appealing for Derby.

At present, the striker earns a modest £870-per-week at The Wham Stadium, while his £1.5m asking price is also likely to be affordable for the Rams, even with the current uncertainty regarding the club’s ownership.

As such, Rooney should be doing all he can to convince Charles – whom Ian Baraclough claimed had been “fantastic” this season – of a move to Pride Park this summer, as the centre-forward appears to have the potential to be both an improvement on a number of the club’s current options in attack, as well as one who is incredibly cost-effective for the club.

أكد مرتضى منصور رئيس مجلس إدارة نادي الزمالك أن محمد أبو جبل حارس مرمى الفريق الأول، لم ينصب تركيزه مع الأبيض في الفترة الأخيرة.

ويعقد الزمالك برئاسة مرتضى منصور مؤتمرا صحفيا اليوم الأحد لتقديم البرتغالي فيريرا المدير الفني الجديد للفريق الأول لكرة القدم.

وقال مرتضى منصور في تصريحات للمؤتمر الصحفي الذي عقده لتقديم فيريرا: “محمد أبو جبل لم يركز مع الزمالك لأنه منذ ١٠ أيام طلب جواز سفره مني شخصيًا لأنه يريد السفر من أجل الظهور في حلقة مع رامز جلال”.

وأكد: “أنا من أعادت محمد أبوجبل حارس مرمى الفريق من سموحة، واللاعب طلب الحصول على 32 مليون جنيه من أجل التجديد”.

وأضاف: “محمد أبوجبل قام بتسريب صورة لتوقيعه على عقود للوكيل السعودي نواف من أجل الضغط على الزمالك”.

واكمل: “أشركناه وجعلناه أساسيًا على حساب المجتهد محمد عواد، لكي ينضم لمنتخب مصر وبعدها يفعل معنا ذلك ويقول إنه سيرحل إلى فريق النصر السعودي”.

Sheffield Wednesday defender Osaze Urhoghide looks increasingly likely to leave the club this summer, with a new deal now not expected.

The Lowdown: Contract expiring

The 20-year-old has made 21 appearances for the Owls to date, but he only managed 12 Championship starts in 2020/21, as Darren Moore’s side were relegated to League One.

Urhoghide’s current Wednesday deal expires next month and an update has been provided on his future.

The Latest: New deal not expected

According to Football League World, it is looking ‘increasingly likely’ that the youngster will move on to pastures new during the summer transfer window.

Urhoghide has been offered a new deal at Hillsborough, so they do want to keep him, but both Premier League and Championship clubs are thought to be circling.

Watford and Cardiff City are both mentioned in the report.

The Verdict: Blow for the Owls

Losing Urhoghide would act as a blow for Wednesday, considering he is one of the most promising young players at the club, with Moore describing him as ‘immense’.

With a host of other players expected to move on, too, it is vital that the manager is able to keep hold of a nucleus of current players, building around them with new signings who are perhaps more experienced in League One.

It is hard to begrudge Urhoghide a move to a higher level, though, given Wednesday’s drop to the third tier of English football and his obvious potential at such a young age.
