Although Gabriel Jesus’ time at Manchester City has been filled with ups and downs, there is no doubt that signing him for just £27m in 2016 has proven to be an excellent decision from both a footballing and financial perspective.

The Brazilian forward joined City from Palmeiras in a £27m deal in the summer of 2016 but only joined up with the squad at the end of the year.

Since then, the frontman has made 184 appearances for City, in which he has contributed an impressive 81 goals and 33 assists, having established himself as a regular in Pep Guardiola’s side.

Although Jesus has never been particularly prolific in the Premier League, with his best goalscoring tally coming in the 2018/19 season when he hit 14 goals in the top-flight, his intelligent runs and work rate are clearly appreciated by Guardiola, as it often leaves more space for teammates to score.

Earlier this season, when the Brazilian international was enduring a difficult run in front of goal, his Spanish manager was full of praise for him, saying:

“We are delighted with him, we need his goals but his contribution was fantastic in many ways.”

And that’s not the first time this campaign that Guardiola has lavished him in praise either.

Jesus was lauded for his “incredible” influence in the dressing room after the win over Liverpool, despite not featuring, whilst just last month, he suggested that the forward was an ‘unsung hero,’ suggesting he had been “amazing” this term.

His performances on the pitch with City have seen his market value rise significantly during his time in the Premier League, and the 24-year-old is currently valued at £54m by Transfermarkt.

Although that has dropped from 2018, when he was valued at a career-high of £72m, the progression during his time at City has been clear to see, and if his recent form continues, then it would not be a surprise to see his value rise again in the near future.

Jesus has five goals in his last seven appearances for City after a difficult start to the season and Guardiola will be hoping that, in the absence of Sergio Aguero next season, the Brazilian will be able to step up and start finding the net consistently in the Premier League.

Although his finishing has been questioned at times, there is no doubt that sporting director Txiki Begiristain delivered City a bargain back in 2016 with the signing of Jesus, as if he does ever leave the club, it seems clear that the Citizens will make a significant profit.

Speaking prior to Southampton’s match against West Bromwich Albion on Monday, Hasenhuttl shared the club’s plans. He provided some good news, saying that the likes of Ings and Vestergaard are not for sale, but he did also admit that the south coast outfit will need to look to sign players for below £10m, which is relatively cheap in the Premier League.

The comments were shared on Twitter by journalist Tom Leach, and it is fair to say that some Saints fans were far from happy, with one even calling the manager “deluded” following his remarks. Another took aim at what they saw as the flawed transfer dealings of former vice-chairman Les Reed.

Embora a Vila não ofereça as comunidades típicas de uma arena, a diretoria do Santos cobra, em média, o preço de R$ 41 pelo ingresso, o que significa o quarto ingresso mais caro do Campeonato Brasileiro, atrás apenas dos rivais Corinthians e Palmeiras e do Flamengo.

O programa de sócios do clube também desagrada aos torcedores santistas, principalmente na hora de comprar entradas pela internet, uma vez que o sistema do Sócio Rei apresenta problemas frequentes.

O Palmeiras conseguiu uma importante vitória fora dos gramados. A câmara de arbitragem da Fundação Getúlio Vargas deu razão ao clube em pontos decisivos da discussão judicial com a WTorre, construtora que administra o Allianz Parque. O principal deles se refere ao direito de comercializar as cadeiras da arena.

Ficou definido que aWTorre só pode vender 10 mil cadeiras especiais (parte desta cota já começou a ser comercializada). Todos os outros assentos ficam sob poder do clube, que temia ver o seu projeto de sócio-torcedor ser enfraquecido caso a construtora tivesse o direito de negociá-las.

A venda de cadeiras não interfere na renda dos jogos, que fica toda com o Palmeiras. Quem compra uma cadeira pode usá-la em todas as partidas do ano, mas precisa pagar ingresso.

A arbitragem ainda estabeleceu que o Allianz Parque não está no padrão Fifa, como defende a construtora. Com isso, o clube vai exigir que algumas melhorias sejam feitas.Por fim, a empresa ainda pretendia fazer a tiquetagem dos ingressos, mas também não obteve sucesso.

O contrato entre Palmeiras e WTorre, válido por 30 anos, foi assinado em 2009. Desde que assumiu a presidência, em 2013, Paulo Nobre tinha como prioridade rever os termos do vínculo e defender os interesses do clube. A discussão estava na arbitragem desde fevereiro de 2014.

Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have been giving their thoughts on the club’s financial accounts, posted by football finance expert Kieran Maguire on Twitter over the weekend.

Maguire shared the document on Saturday morning just hours prior to the club’s 4-1 defeat at home to Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea. The major talking points in the accounts running from June 2019 to July 2020 were a £58m loss and 93% of the income going on wages.

Palace have 12 players out of contract in the summer, as well as manager Roy Hodgson, and it seems as if a huge club rebuild will get the green light over the coming months. Reports elsewhere recently have linked Wilfried Zaha with a move to Arsenal, whereas The Telegraph claimed that the Eagles could go on a £50m summer spending spree.
