Manchester United’s interest in signing Raphael Varane is reportedly growing with the French World Cup winner set to reject a new contract offer from Real Madrid.

What’s the word?

That is according to the Manchester Evening News, and the reigning La Liga champions are reportedly willing to let the 27-year-old leave for a fee this summer, as opposed to losing him on a free transfer later down the line.

United legend Gary Neville is a big fan of Varane and described him as an “amazing player”, one who he ranks ahead of Liverpool colossus Virgil van Dijk.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seemingly remains keen to add another experienced centre-half to his squad, and Varane certainly fits the bill.

Get it done

Varane is rated at £63 million and been an almost ever-present figure in Zinedine Zidane’s squad this season.

He has played in 24 of Madrid’s 25 La Liga fixtures to date and acquired an impressive average match rating of 7.13 by SofaScore this season.

Los Blancos have kept 11 clean sheets with Varane in the side, and Zidane’s men boast the third-best defensive record this season with 20 goals conceded in 25 matches.

United have been linked with Varane for a number of years, and Ed Woodward was reportedly ready to sanction a £100 million move for him after the World Cup.

But now it remains more important than ever for the Red Devils to sign a player of Varane’s calibre, which has been highlighted by their porous defence this season.

They have conceded 32 goals in 27 Premier League games to date, more than any other side in the top five at time of writing, and the established partnership between Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof has come under plenty of scrutiny.

There are also rumours that Eric Bailly could be tied down to a longer contract ahead of being sold for a higher price, which has all highlighted the need for increased stability in the defence.

“جلوب سوكر” هي جائزة إماراتية يحصل عليها الفائزين في مجال الرياضة لـ14 فئة، تضم اللاعبين واللاعبات، والمدربين للأندية، وكذلك وكلاء الأعمال ورؤساء الأندية، في حفل يقام بدبي خلال شهر ديسمبر.

وكان في العام الماضي من حصد جائزة أفضل مدرب هو هانز فليك بعد فوزه بالسداسية مع بايرن ميونخ، وكان أبرزها الدوري الألماني، كأس ألمانيا، دوري أبطال أوروبا، وكأس العالم للأندية.

وهذا العام أعلنت اللجنة حصول مانشيني على جائزة أفضل مدرب في العالم لعام 2021، وذلك بعد فوزه بلقب كأس أمم أوروبا (يورو 2020).

وتفوق مانشيني على ديدييه ديشامب مدرب فرنسا، وهانز فليك مدرب ألمانيا، وليونيل سكالوني مدرب الأرجنتيني، ومدرب تشيلسي توماس توخيل، والإسباني مدرب مانشستر سيتي بيب جوارديولا.

Celtic captain Scott Brown has been linked with a move to Aberdeen.

According to The Scottish Sun, the 35-year-old is wanted as a player-assistant at Pittodrie, should former Hibernian teammate Stephen Glass land the vacant managerial role.

England strikers’ coach Allan Russell is also wanted by Glass alongside Brown, with the Hoops icon out of contract in the summer.

Brown is thought to be Celtic’s top earner on £25,000 per week, with The Scottish Sun claiming that an offer at Aberdeen ‘would likely prove too good to turn down’.

Transfer Tavern take

The no-nonsense midfielder appears to be approaching the end of his memorable Parkhead stay. He hasn’t been as influential this season, starting just 19 of Celtic’s 32 Premiership fixtures.

Ismaila Soro appears to be a readymade replacement for Brown, and should he wish to go into coaching, this may be the ideal opportunity for him.

He’d still get the chance to carry on his playing career while earning his real experience on the sidelines. Who knows, should Glass make the move to Pittodrie and take Brown with him, we could see the Hoops hero return in the Hoops dugout further down the line.

أصدرت المحكمة الإدارية العليا، حكمًا اليوم برفض الطعنين المقدمين من ممدوح عباس وهشام حطب رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية واللذين طعنا على حكم محكمة القضاء الإداري الصادر في مايو الماضي والذي قضى بإلغاء قرار إيقاف مرتضى منصور رئيس نادي الزمالك لمدة أربع سنوات وتغريمه مائة ألف جنيه.

وكان هشام حطب ولجنته الأولمبية أصدرا هذا القرار في ٢٤ أكتوبر ۲۰۲۰ بناء على الشكاوى المقدمة من ممدوح عباس وعبد الله جورج وعمرو الجنايني ومحمود الخطيب رئيس النادي الأهلي وجمال الغندور رئيس لجنة الحكام وهشام نصر رئيس اتحاد كرة اليد السابق.

وقد تضمنت شكوى هشام نصر أنه يطالب بشطب مرتضى منصور من الوسط الرياضي، لأنه أهان حسن مصطفى رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة اليد، ثم قام الأخير باتخاذ قرار دولي بإيقاف هشام نصر وعزله من رئاسة اتحاد كرة اليد بعد ذلك.

وكانت محكمة القضاء الإداري برئاسة المستشار فتحي توفيق نائب رئيس مجلس الدولة قد أصدر حكمًا يوم 31 مايو ۲۰۲۱ بإلغاء قرار اللجنة الأولمبية ورفض الدعاوى المقدمة من ممدوح عباس وهشام حطب تأسيسًا على أن اللجنة الأولمبية هيئة رياضية من الهيئات الأربعة المنصوص عليها في قانون الرياضة ولا يجوز للجنة الأولمبية أو أعضائها توقيع أي علوية على رؤساء الأندية أو الاتحادات الرياضية ولا وصاية اللجنة الأولمبية أو رئيسها على رؤساء الأندية وأن الجهة الوحيدة التي توقع هذه العقوبات في الجمعيات العمومية للأندية والاتحادات وأن قرار اللجنة الأولمبية مخالف لقانون الرياضة رقم 71 لسنة 2017 ومختلف أيضًا للميثاق الأولمبي.

تحدث محمود عبد المنعم كهربا لاعب الأهلي، عن تغريمه مليون جنيه من قبل إثر أزمه مع زميل له في الفريق، مشيرًا إلى أنه حزين لعدم انضمامه لمنتخب مصر.

وقال كهربا في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر فضائية “إم بي سي مصر”: “كانت مشكلة في النادي بيني وبين زميل لي، وأنا لا أحب الحديث عن هذه الأزمة، في الأهلي من يخطئ وتقع عليه عقوبة اللاعب لا يتحدث وتطبق عليه”.

هل موسيماني يحب ويكره أم يأخذ بالتدريبات؟: “تعاملت معه كثيرًا لا أستطيع أن أقول إنه يحب ويكره أو يأخذ بالتدريبات، أنا أتدرب بشكل جيد وتكفيني شهادة الكابتن الخطيب”.

وأكمل كهربا: “أرى أنني لم أحصل على فرصتي في الأهلي، وأشعر أنني ظلمت، ولكنني من وجهة نظري نجحت فقد حصدت 6 بطولات”.

وزاد: “ناس كثيرين يتحدثون بشأن أنني لم أحقق نجاحًا مع الأهلي خلال الفترة الماضية، رغم أن أرقامي جيدة وحصلت على بطولات، هذا نجاح، ولو كنت حصلت على فرصتي كاملة لكنت في مكان آخر”.

وواصل: “أتدرب بشكل جيد ولكن وجهة نظر المدير الفني ألا ألعب، وكنت أنتظر فرصتي ولكنها لم تأت”.

وأشار: “(نفسي ألعب، أنا ممكن أشيل كور في الأهلي، ولكن غصب عني أنا تعبت وصعبان علي نفسي)، لأني لا أقصر في شيء ورغم ذلك لا ألعب، لا أحب كلمة ظلمت، لكن في الأول والأخر الأهلي بيتي وسأعود له لأني (مليش غيرهم)”.

استطرد: “حزين من عدم التواجد مع منتخب مصر، ولكننا جميعا ندعمه وإن شاء الله يعود بالكأس، وعندما رأيت صورة محمد صلاح التي نشرها حزنت أنني لست متواجدًا الآن”.

وعن رأيه في اشتباك ميدو وكوكا: “لم يعجبني، نحن كلاعبين كرة لا يصح أن نتحدث عن زملائنا، أنا أحزن من الإعلاميين الذين كانوا لاعبين كرة ويتحدثون على اللاعبين الحاليين، كوكا أخ أصغر لـ ميدو، ولكن بالتأكيد سيتصالحان”.

وبشأن ما قاله ميدو إن دخول كوكا المنتخب يأتي بالواسطة: “لم يحدث أن انضم لاعب للمنتخب عن طريق الواسطة”.

وتطرق للحديث عن الثنائي طارق حامد لاعب الزمالك ومحمد مجدي أفشة لاعب الأهلي: “كان من المفترض أن ينضما للمنتخب لأنهما لاعبان كبار، ولكن هي وجهة نظر كيروش”.

وبسؤاله ماذا ستفعل بعد اعتزال الكرة؟ أجاب: “أفكر في العمل بالتمثيل، وأؤدي الأدوار الأكشن”.

O triunfo faz do líder Verdão, agora três pontos à frente do Peixe, em segundo, a equipe com melhor ataque (36 gols), melhor desempenho como mandante, junto com Santos e Grêmio (oito vitórias, um empate e uma derrota), e melhor visitante, ao lado do Fla (quatro vitórias, dois empates e duas derrotas). Leeds United are keen on signing an ideal backup to Kalvin Phillips this summer, with no current squad member tailor-made to fill in for him when absent.

The 25-year-old has been an outstanding performer for the Whites in recent years, arguably becoming the first name on Marcelo Bielsa’s team sheet.

Phillips has taken his imperious form with him from the Championship to the Premier League, forcing his way into Gareth Southgate’s England squad in the process.

The midfielder is a huge loss when he is unavailable, however – as has been the case recently, having missed a chunk of action with a calf injury.

Leeds eye up Phillips deputy this summer

Leeds are looking to alleviate that issue moving forward, with The Athletic’s Phil Hay claiming that they are ‘thinking seriously about recruiting cover’ for the England international, with their current backup options far from the ‘perfect match’, with Pascal Struijk mentioned as an example.

Marcela Bielsa’s hope is that a new addition will mean future absences for Phillips would leave ‘a smaller void’ than it has this season, with the Whites not the same team without him, losing six of the eight league matches he has missed.

Hay describes Phillips as Leeds’ ‘best player’ against West Ham and ‘highly effective’ in the 0-0 draw at home to Chelsea, highlighting his importance even after a lengthy absence.

Transfer Tavern take

The importance of squad depth cannot be downplayed over the course of a long and gruelling season in the Premier League, so a new midfield signing of Phillips’ ilk is important this summer.

It is never healthy to be overly reliant on one individual, which can arguably be the case with the Leeds midfielder, and a summer reinforcement would allow for more rotation from Bielsa.

If there is one player that Leicester City will not want to be injured on international duty, that would be Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Nigerian forward is arguably in the best form of his Foxes career since his arrival from Manchester City as he’s scored nine goals in his last 12 games in all competitions, including seven in his last four.

It is that form which has earned him international recognition, having been called-up into the Nigeria squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone, Benin and Lesotho.

However, according to Goal, the 24-year-old was missing from the first training session as Gernot Rohr’s Super Eagles commenced their preparations for the international clashes.

Whether his absence is injury-related remains to be seen but either way, it should be of concern to Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers.

Iheanacho has been one of the most in-form players at the Northern-Irishman’s disposal in recent weeks.

Amidst a goal drought that has seen Jamie Vardy score just once in his last 16 appearances in all competitions, Iheanacho has shouldered that goal-scoring burden with aplomb.

His strikes have been extremely valuable, too. In recent weeks, the £13.5m-rated forward has contributed to wins against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League and FA Cup, whilst also playing a huge role in the Foxes’ big victories against Sheffield United and, of course, Manchester United.

The Nigerian also netted a wonderful equaliser as Leicester earned a point in a 1-1 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor.

Should he be injured, this would leave Rodgers with just Vardy as his natural striking option at the King Power Stadium and considering the 34-year-old’s barren run, that will be a concern as the East-Midlanders continue to pursue a UEFA Champions League spot as well as a place in the FA Cup Final.

Rodgers then will surely be hoping that Iheanacho’s absence from training with Nigeria is something a little less sinister than it first appears as he won’t want to be without his hot-shot forward.
