If there is one player that Aston Villa must look back on with a sense of regret that they didn’t manage to pull off a deal for, then Weston McKennie is surely right there near the top of the list.

The USA international was touted with a switch to Villa Park in the summer transfer window, with reports claiming that the midfielder had specifically asked about Dean Smith’s side and was hoping for a serious offer from them.

In the end, that didn’t materialise, and McKennie ended up completing a switch to Serie A giants Juventus. The move benefits all parties. Harrison clearly enjoys playing for the club or he wouldn’t have come back, and he is guaranteed consistent playing time at Elland Road, something which simply isn’t the case under Pep Guardiola.

وتحدث جوارديولا عن الثنائي فيل فودين وجاك جيرليش وتطورات التعافي من الإصابة قبل مواجهة مانشستر سيتي ووست هام المقرر خوضها يوم الأحد في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وقال جوارديولا في تصريحات نشرها الموقع الرسمي لـ مانشستر سيتي: “عاد فودين وجريليش للتدريبات، هما بحال أفضل بكثير الآن خصوصا فيل، اليوم عطلة وفي الصباح سنرى كيف يشعران، لن نخاطر بهما ولكن نأمل أن يعودا قريبًا”.

وأضاف: “كيفين دي بروين يشعر بتحسن الآن، مرت حوالي سبعة أو ثمانية أيام، أمامه بضعة أيام أخرى لإجراء اختبار جديد وإذا كانت نتيجة المسحة سلبية فسيعود”.

Some Everton fans have been left hammering the display of Lucas Digne in their FA Cup tie versus Rotherham United.

The former FC Barcelona star did not have the best of games upon his return from a pretty lengthily spell out with injury, and it showed as he did not look quite up to scratch.

He lost possession of the ball no fewer than 14 times in total in the match, and also lost out on three of his duels, earning him a very measly 6.2 0verall rating on Sofascore.

The France international also failed to record a single dribble, interception, key pass or accurate cross in the clash, as he was substituted off midway through the second half for Yerry Mina (Sofascore), with the Goodison Park faithful being forced into extra-time after the EFL Championship club held them to a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.

Dembele has consistently produced quality performances in the third tier so far this season, having averaged a superb 7.39 rating, with five goals and six assists to his name in 19 league appearances.

However, it is clear that Saturday’s performance was extra special, as it earned him an 8.38 rating from WhoScored, which was his third-best rating of the season so far.

As per SofaScore, the winger was rated as the second-best player on the pitch during the 3-0 win against MK Dons, with only two-goal attacker Sammie Szmodics rated higher.

During his time on the pitch, Dembele would contribute two assists, and was successful in both of his dribble attempts and all of his crosses and long balls, demonstrating the quality he has on the ball.

He would create two big chances during the game, which Szmodics would put away, emphasising just how much impact he had in the game against Russell Martin’s side.

Impressively, the 24-year-old would also win five duels and make three tackles, which was the same amount of tackles as both of Peterborough’s wing-backs, which suggests that he could offer Parker’s side help from a defensive perspective, as well as an attacking one.

Kamara meanwhile, has averaged a terrible 5.93 rating in his Premier League appearances so far this season, and although he is playing at a higher level, he averages 0.4 shots, 0.4 key passes and 0.4 dribbles, which is comfortably inferior to the 2 shots, 1.7 key passes and 3.1 dribbles averaged by Dembele.

Therefore, when considering his form this season and his performance against MK Dons, it seems clear that Dembele would be a better option than Kamara in Parker’s side, and Tony Khan must therefore consider a move for the Peterborough winger before the transfer window is over.
