Monday’s Newcastle transfer roundup explained a rejected approach for a former Premier League legend, an expected bid for a 21-year-old midfielder and interest in a young goalkeeper. Today’s edition consists of an update in regards to the striker situation at the Toon, a former Sunderland manager considered for the Newcastle hot seat and the pursuit of an Uruguayan international.

Two on striker shortlist

The Shields Gazette is reporting that Newcastle have a shortlist of two strikers to replace the outgoing Ayoze Perez. The Spaniard signed for Leicester City last week, and the recruitment team is looking at forwards both in England and on the continent. As of yet, the names have not been shared.

Bruce considered for manager’s position

According to Sky Sports, Steve Bruce is being considered for the top job at St. James Park. The 58-year-old former Manchester United player is currently with Sheffield Wednesday. Newcastle are keen to replace Rafa Benitez before the team heads out to China for the Asia Cup.

Laxalt wanted by Newcastle

Diego Laxalt will leave AC Milan this summer, and Newcastle are one of three clubs interested in the 26-year-old according to Calcio Mercato. The Rossoneri want €15m (£13.5m) for the left-back, with Zenit St Petersburg and Torino also keeping tabs on the La Celeste man.

West Brom’s trials and tribulations with their youth academy looks set to continue after it was confirmed by Express & Star that Albion had agreed a compensation fee with Manchester City for young star Morgan Rogers.

The 16-year-old looks set to depart for £4m and will become the second teenager of that age to leave the Hawthorns in a short period of time.

Only last week Louie Barry walked out of the club, reportedly signing for Barcelona after rejecting PSG.

And reacting to the news on Twitter, fans of the Baggies were understandably hugely frustrated. One supporter went as far as saying the club was finished whilst one asked how they could send their season ticket back.

A further individual made reference to Barry as well, suggesting that both him and Rogers leaving would offer no encouragement ahead of the new campaign.

One tweeter said that the fee West Brom would be getting for the youngster was disgraceful.

Rogers was in red hot form at youth level last term, scoring 14 goals and claiming seven assists in just 24 outings.

The academy appears to be in turmoil at the moment after losing backroom staff members Mark Harrison and Mike Scott this summer too.

وقال كورتوا في تصريحات لقناة ريال مدريد بعد المباراة: “الطرد كان له تأثير سلبي علينا، وجعل المباراة أكثر صعوبة، لأننا كنا نلعب منذ وقت مبكر بـ 10 لاعبين”.

وأضاف: “في النهاية لا يمكنني التعليق على الطرد، هو قرار تحكيمي في النهاية، لكنني متأكد من أن ميليتاو لم يتعمد ارتكاب خطأ، كما أن فاران كان يركض بجانبه”.

وشدد: “أمامنا مباراة ضد هويسكا في الجولة المقبلة، يجب علينا الفوز ثم نأمل بخسارة منافسينا”.

واختتم: “الليجا انتهت؟ بالنسبة لنا البطولة تنتهي في مايو، علينا أن نقاتل ونرى ما سيحدث حتى ذلك الوقت”.

The Hammers were linked with a move for the Newcastle United midfielder at the beginning of the summer transfer window.

Since then, the club have signed attacking midfielder Pablo Fornals and striker Sebastian Haller.

And the Irons insider, responding to a question from a fan, doubts that the club will be able to meet the Magpies’ asking price unless they sell players first.

He said: “Budget is very dependent on players out at (the) moment so I’m not sure we will be able to afford him.â€

Two steps back

West Ham have spent over £60m already this summer but this is one step forward, two steps back.

The club need to sign a midfielder, particularly with Pedro Obiang reportedly nearing a move to Serie A.

If they cannot afford a move for Hayden, who has actually confirmed his desire to leave the Magpies and move south to be nearer his family, then serious questions should be asked.

They have strengthened the squad on the surface but depth is needed, too.

A move for Hayden should be relatively inexpensive in this transfer window but the Hammers appear to have already spent all of their budget.

That is not a good thing, particularly with holes still needing to be filled at the London Stadium.

وعن تعيين الشواربي رئيسًا للجنة المسابقات قال:”لن نُعين رئيسًا للمسابقات، محمد الشواربي مشرفًا عليها، وسيد بخيت يسير أعمال إدارة المسابقات لما لديه من خبرات كبيرة”.

وأوضح: “هذا قرار اللجنة الثلاثية حتى الآن، هذه الخطوة متروكة للمجلس المنتخب ورابطة الأندية للموسم الجديد”.

وتطرق للحديث عن خافيير أجيري مدرب منتخب مصر السابق: “لجنة الجهاز المركزي للمحاسبات والتفتيش التابعة للوزارة انتهت من مهمتها أمس، ولم تكتب تقريرها حتى الآن، ولم يتم إخطارنا بأي ملاحظات”.

واختتم موضحًا: “لكن ليس هناك مخالفات في عقد أجيري، كما أن منتخب مصر لم يحصل على مكافآت من رئيس الشيشان كما تردد”.

With Andy Carroll now off the books at West Ham after seven seasons in the English capital, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before the 30-year-old striker was linked with a return to Newcastle United.

And sure enough, it’s happened as the Telegraph report that the Toon are interested in bringing their former striker back on a free following the club-record signing of Hoffenheim striker Joelinton for a reported £40 million according to BBC Sport, with the report claiming that Newcastle are in touch with Carroll’s camp and are keeping an eye on the attacker as he recovers from ankle surgery.

Indeed, the Chronicle backed that up recently and suggested the former Liverpool man was keen on a return.

The development, though, has divided the Newcastle fan base, and fan channel The Magpies Channel has thrown their hat into the ring on the debate in the video below, giving his three reasons why the club should, in fact, sign Carroll this summer.

With Salomon Rondon gone to China along with Rafa Benitez as well as Ayoze Perez making the move to Premier League rivals Leicester City, Newcastle are in need of strikers this summer on top of the signing of Joelinton, and for a free transfer, Carroll could be an ideal addition for the team that will not only add numbers in a deprived position but could also provide a positive boost to the fan base given his previous connection with the club.

وفاز بايرن ميونخ على الأهلي بهدفين دون رد، في المباراة التي جمعت بينهما ضمن منافسات نصف نهائي كأس العالم للأندية، على ملعب استاد الريان بالعاصمة القطرية الدوحة، ليتأهل الأحمر للعب على المركز الثالث، عندما يواجه نظيره بالميراس البرازيلي، الذي هُزم في دور نصف النهائي من تيجريس أونال المكسيكي.

وقال عبد المنعم شطة، خلال مداخلة هاتفية ببرنامج “حديث القاهرة” المُذاع عبر قناة “القاهرة والناس”: “أداء الأهلي في مباراة اليوم مع بايرن ميونخ كان جيدًا، ولكن لم يصل اللاعبين إلى مرمى نوير كثيرًا”.

تابع: “مباراة الأهلي المقبلة مع بالميراس ليست بالسهلة وتحتاج أداءً قويًا، وأتوقع أن يحقق الأهلي المركز الثالث”.

وواصل:” لاعبو الأهلي بالنسبة لإفريقيا يؤدون بشكل جيد وكبير، ولكن عند القفز للعالمية كهذه المباراة يحتاج النادي إلى لاعبين أقوى ليتماشوا مع طموح الفريق”.

اختتم: “يجب إعداد لاعبي النادي الأهلي نفسيًا بشكل أقوى قبل مثل هذه المباريات، للتخلص من الخوف والتوتر قبل النزول لأرض الملعب، لاعبو البايرن قالوا (كفاية كده)!”.

كشفت تقارير صحفية أن نجم فريق ليفربول ساديو ماني يتطلع إلى الاستثمار في نادِ فرنسي بالدرجة الأدنى.

وذكرت شبكة “ليفربول إيكو” الإنجليزية نقلًا عن تقارير فرنسية أن ماني يرغب في القيام باستثمارات في نادي بورجيز فوت الناشط في الدوري الفرنسي للهواة.

ويُعد النادي المذكور مملوكًا في الوقت الحالي للشيخ سيلا، ثاني رئيس سنغالي لنادي فرنسي بعد بابي ضيوف في مارسيليا بين 2005-2009.

وأوضحت التقارير أن سيلا التقى بالفعل مع بابي دينج، أحد أقرب المُعاونين لـ ماني.

وأبدى يان جالوت عمدة مدينة بورجيه الفرنسية، الموجود بها النادي، ثقته في الحصول على بعض الاستثمارات الجديدة من خلال مشروع طرحه ساديو ماني.

وقال جالوت في تصريحات نشرتها “ليفربول إيكو” نقلًا عن التقارير الفرنسية: “العلاقة والتعاون الذي نتمتع به مع ماني جادة، الاتصالات مع مجلس المدينة موجودة بالفعل”.

وأضاف: “هل ستُعقد محادثات؟ بالنظر إلى الوضع الدولي مع أزمة فيروس كورونا لا نعرف ما سيحدث، ما يمكنني قوله هو إنه لو لم يكن هناك أي فيروس، لكنا سنرحب بتواجد ماني في مدينتنا من أجل التحدث”.

The main concern for Bilic going into the game with Forest is in defence. They are without Ahmed Hegazi who is going to be absent through injury following the Africa Cup of Nations.

Aside from that, Albion will have essentially what is a fully fit squad to chose from.

Their new manager has previously stated his desire to play with two strikers in attack but their lack of options dictates that may not be possible.

As a result, we’re predicting new signing Kenneth Zohore to lead the line, the first of five potential debutants.

Among those are defenders Semi Ajayi and Darnell Furlong whilst Romaine Sawyers and Filip Krovinovic are likely to feature in midfield.

Ajayi played in a holding role for Rotherham at times in 2018/19 but with no Hegazi, he may well be placed in defence instead.

Perhaps the biggest predicament facing Bilic is out wide.

Oliver Burke is now back at the club but the Croatian boss has been speaking highly of Kyle Edwards, suggesting that he’s ready to feature. Matt Phillips has been in good form in pre-season, scoring twice against Scunthorpe so could play on the right.

19-year-old Rekeem Harper signed a new deal this summer and may start in a partnership with another former academy man in Sawyers.
